Artificial Industry or Industrial Intelligence? Connected Shopfloor Summit 2025 Highlights

The 3rd edition of the Connected Shopfloor Summit brought together some of the brightest minds in industrial innovation to discuss one of the most pressing questions of our time: “Artificial Industry or Industrial Intelligence?”

Held on October 23rd at Indulgent Events by the Sea, in Porto, this year’s event gathered industrial leaders, technology experts and professionals from across sectors for an afternoon dedicated to reflection, collaboration and the future of manufacturing.

The 2025 edition focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the industrial landscape, not by replacing human expertise, but by amplifying it. The sessions explored how data, automation and AI are merging to create smarter, more adaptive and more sustainable factories.

Key Highlights from the Afternoon

Ignacio Sasieta opened the event and shared valuable insights in his session AI & Digital Systems in Industry, addressing the challenges and opportunities of implementing intelligent systems on the shopfloor.

A dynamic roundtable discussion followed, featuring Ricardo Tschan Carvalho, Filipe Silva, Gonçalo Barata da Rocha and Pedro Maia, who debated how AI, data integration, and human experience can coexist to drive continuous improvement across industries.

After a short coffee break, Rui Baptista presented the Wedrone Case Study, offering a real-world perspective on innovation in action, before Marco Tschan took the stage for a special announcement, unveiling the new proGrow One app, your factory data in your pocket, with an integrated AI Chat. A major milestone in our mission to make factories smarter, more connected and more accessible than ever.

The day concluded with an informal champagne hour, where participants had the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas and explore future collaborations.
